Cynthia England has 30 years experience in the advertising agency business. For 25 years, she served as Executive Vice President/Media Director and Partner of the agency Pearson McMahon Fletcher England. England served as the pivotal media strategist on the agency's highly successful hhgregg team, growing the business from 5 to 80 stores. Additionally, she brought her sharp consumer marketing focus talents to plan and negotiate media for such clients as Pizza Hut, Arby's, Wheaton World Wide Moving, May Company (L. S. Ayres Department Stores), Merchants National Bank (now National City Bank), Noble Roman's Pizza, Duke Energy (PSI), and Wild Birds Unlimited.
During an unprecedented 24 year partnership with hhgregg, England served as the pivotal media strategist, directing the planning and placement of all broadcast media, promotions and grand openings. During her tenure, the business became one of the most successful brands in its category. In every market, hhgregg outperformed its competition, which included Circuit City, Best Buy and many other regional operations. This growth put hhgregg in position to successfully pursue its IPO in 2007.
England also devoted time and energy to growing the advertising business in general. She served as president of the Advertising Club of Indianapolis for the 1998-1999 business year and served as a representative of the 6 th District of the American Advertising Federation. Honors include the AWRT Media Management of the Year Award in 1992 and the AWRT Media Director of the Year Award in 1994.
As a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, England is married with 4 children. She is a graduate of Millikin University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a minor in Business Administration. She is a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and, in 1995, was involved with the marketing of "The Garden" a contemporary worship service that now ranks among the top 10 percent of all United Methodist churches across the country in attendance. She has been active in the Metropolitan School District of Washington Township in Indianapolis. She trained for and completed the nation's largest half-marathon, the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon (the nation's largest half-marathon) six times.
